MISSION & HISTORY.
Founded by Claire Waters, forty years ago, Project Help Clothing Ministry (PHCM) was birthed in Columbus, Ohio, in the South Linden district. It has provided clean, quality, new and gently-used clothing and spiritual resources to thousands of families. After Claire‘s passing in 2005, the mission has been continued by Claire‘s daughter, Sandra Waters-Holley, and a team of dedicated men and women.
Canned goods are annually collected by schools to assist families. Additionally, toys, school supplies, toiletries and clothing donated by several companies, churches and many individuals benefit recipients as well. In the fall of the year, Project Help Clothing Ministry provides new school supplies for children to enhance their academic performance. Currently, the non-profit ministry networks with specific agencies, churches, schools and other Ohio organizations assisting families- in-crises.
Families are invited by appointment and receive pre-packaged donations. There is a “no first come, first served” policy which enables the ministry to effectively serve families who are experiencing dire financial circumstances. Because of the enormous need of our community, referrals are always accepted via specific agencies. selected schools and ten families from various churches.
